Uitgebreide toelichting: De Europese eisen voor contactmaterialen

(EG) 1935/2004 Materialen en voorwerpen bestemd om met levensmiddelen in contact te komen

Samenvatting

  • Materiaal mag bij normaal gebruik geen stoffen afgeven die gezondheid schaden
  • Geen onaanvaardbare wijziging in samenstelling, geen aantasting van geur, smaak of uiterlijk
  • Fabrikant werkt volgens goede fabricagemethoden, met traceerbaarheid in de keten.

Wat dit concreet betekent voor jou

  • Je kunt onze verpakkingen inzetten voor levensmiddelen, mits je ze gebruikt binnen de opgegeven specificaties
  • Je ontvangt documentatie waarmee je jouw eigen leveranciersbeoordeling kunt afronden.

  • Selectie van GFSI-gecertificeerde producenten, waaronder BRCGS Packaging Materials
  • Analyses steekproefgewijs op basis van risico inschatting, door geaccrediteerde laboratoriums

Volledige toelichting

Deze verordening is het kader. Kern is artikel 3, dat vastlegt dat materialen geen componenten mogen migreren in hoeveelheden die de gezondheid schaden, de samenstelling onaanvaardbaar veranderen, of organoleptische eigenschappen aantasten. Traceerbaarheid moet door de keten heen geborgd zijn en er gelden etiketteringseisen wanneer materialen bestemd zijn voor voedselcontact.

(EG) 2023/2006 Goede fabricagemethoden (GMP)

Samenvatting

  • Verplicht gedocumenteerd kwaliteitsborgingssysteem en kwaliteitscontrolesysteem
  • Duidelijke processen, scholing en registraties
  • Traceerbaarheid en beheer van wijzigingen.

  • Je krijgt materialen uit processen met aantoonbare kwaliteitsbeheersing, wat audit-proof is richting QA en inkoop.

Wat wij borgen

  • Alleen samenwerking met producenten die GMP aantoonbaar implementeren binnen een GFSI erkend schema
  • Jaarlijkse leveranciersbeoordeling, SOP’s en trainingen verifieerbaar bij de producent.

Volledige toelichting

De verordening specificeert organisatorische en technische eisen aan productie en kwaliteitscontrole, inclusief documentatie, klachtenafhandeling, afwijkingen, correctieve maatregelen en training. Dit zorgt ervoor dat materialen consistent aan de toepasselijke eisen voldoen.

(EU) 10/2011 Kunststoffen voor voedselcontact

Samenvatting

  • Bevat de positieve lijst van toegestane stoffen en migratielimieten
  • Schrijft testcondities en berekeningsmethoden voor
  • Verplicht Declaration of Compliance (DoC) voor kunststoffen.

Wat dit concreet betekent voor jou

  • Met de DoC en productspecificatie kun jij jouw eigen product-toepassing toetsen en vastleggen
  • Op verzoek kunnen we testcondities toelichten, zodat jouw QA-dossier compleet is.

Wat wij borgen

  • DoC per levering met de vereiste gegevens, afgestemd op de actuele versie van de verordening
  • Uitvoer van migratie onderzoek door geaccrediteerde laboratoriums in opdracht van PouchDirect.

Volledige toelichting

Voor kunststoffen gelden grenswaarden voor totale en specifieke migratie. De DoC bevat onder meer: identiteit van de exploitant, productidentificatie, datum, verklaring van conformiteit met (EU) 10/2011 en artikel 3 van (EG) 1935/2004, informatie over stoffen met beperkingen, resultaten of berekeningen voor specifieke migratie, zuiverheidseisen waar relevant, en specificaties voor gebruik zoals beoogde voedselcategorieën, tijd en temperatuur van contact, en het oppervlak-volume-criterium. Bij meerlaagse structuren gelden extra bepalingen voor functionele barrières.
Opmerking: onze huidige voorraadproducten bevatten geen gerecycled kunststof.

Niet van toepassing op onze huidige producten.

Gerecycled kunststof

Aanvullende EU-regels zijn van kracht voor gerecycled kunststof. Onze huidige voorraad bevat nog geen gerecycled materiaal. We volgen deze ontwikkeling nauwgezet op de voet en zullen dit verder in ons assortiment integreren zodra de markt dit verder toe laat. Vraag gerust om de opties voor een op maat verpakking met gerecycled materiaal.
